Marketing in Leisure and Tourism
What is the marketing mix?

The marketing ix looks at the four main factors that need to be considered to make marketing successful. The marketing mix is often referred to as the four P's:

  • Product
  • Place
  • Promotion
  • Price

A good marketing mix means an organisation:

  • Offers a product that current or potential customers want
  • Make sure the customer can purchase the product in a particular place that is accessible
  • Promotes the product so current or potential customers know about it
  • Offers the product at a price that the customer will pay

If an organisation does not get the right product to the right person at the price at the right time then the organisation will fail in successfully marketing a product.
